Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. - Melodie Beattie
These words mean a lot to me. There are times when neither science nor faith can give me what I want in terms of easy to understand, resolute guidance. I often equate the logic and reasoning of both to tremendously long math problems with an infinite amount of variables that my mind fails to grasp. In spite of this, I am told that the best course of action is to simply accept the origin, journey and final solution as all being true.
My understanding of gratitude compensates for where my mind stumbles.
There are no complexities to being grateful. You either are or not. The dichotomies, though, of being versus being void of are very distinct and very powerful.
Thanks for this most inspiring perspective on gratitude. As I walked outside,I suddenly envisioned a brighter day and it is all mine! This Is gratitude and I am thankful for its splendor and beauty. Now I can grasp all that it has to offer, a breath of fresh air.
